Dr. Amanthi Demuth grew up in Colombo, Sri Lanka. At just 17 years old, she came to the United States – “the land of opportunities” (her words.) She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Iowa State and continued her education at Palmer College of Chiropractic. In August 2020 (yes, during the pandemic), she opened her own practice, Demuth Spinal Care & Concussion Center in Sartell. “My plan was to go back home and open my own clinic but then I met my soulmate from Cold Spring, MN.”
“Since I was a kid I had a passion for helping others live a better quality of life. The holistic approach is what drove me to select chiropractic care. At Demuth Spinal Care, we take pride in helping people reach their full potential and reach their health and wellness goals. We see patients with a history of concussions, headaches, neck pain, back pain, and more. Our services include Upper Cervical Care, functional medicine, and rehabilitation.”
`There’s a long list of impressive accolades on Dr. Demuth’s resume. She is the first Srilankan Upper Cervical Chiropractor in the US. Out of the 100,000 chiropractors in the world, Dr. Amanthi Demuth is one of only 2,000 Upper Cervical-focused doctors. In 2020, she completed a cognitive fitness degree at Harvard to enlighten others about the fundamental pillars to improving brain health. Dr. Demuth is also the author of “Game Changer: The Secrets to Living Your Best Life After a Concussion” … and trust me when I say – this is just some of that list.
“My passion for functional medicine led me to become a certified functional medicine practitioner. I’m also a scholar at Carrick Institute For Graduate Studies & has successfully completed graduate studies in Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)” Dr. Demuth’s practice has a patient-centered, holistic approach.”
Demuth Spinal Care & Concussion Center isn’t your run-of-the-mill chiropractor. The adjustments and alignments Dr. Demuth focuses on are centered around your Atlas – and we’re not talking about a map. The atlas is the first cervical vertebra and the topmost vertebra of your spine. The atlas not only has to support and balance the weight of the head; if it is misplaced, it can contribute to many other bodily ailments. Everything from headaches and migraines, to hip pain, jaw pain, and back pain can be a result of a misaligned atlas – but so can symptoms like poor concentration, dizziness, and more. An atlas correction is often necessary to get everything back on track.
“The Atlas Orthogonal Technique is a safe, gentle, and precise chiropractic technique used for decades to restore balance of the nervous system and improve function. It is a revolutionary advancement in chiropractic upper cervical techniques used to find and correct misalignment of the first vertebrae of the spine, the atlas bone. This procedure is based on scientific and biomechanical principles.” An Atlas Orthogonal doctor – like Dr. Demuth – uses specific x-ray views and postural evaluations to determine the extent and direction of spinal misalignment.
And it works. Dr. Demuth’s many clients are walking proof. “We aim to help people live an extraordinary life, naturally. We love serving each and every one of our patients. It’s so rewarding to see them reach their goals and make progress in their health and wellness journey. We love having the opportunity to meet a lot of great people through our chamber meetings and networking events. We are grateful to be a part of the Central MN community!”
