For over 15 years, Discrete Designs has been designing spaces and coordinating residential building projects to help people in Minnesota thrive in their homes. “I have a passion for creating spaces for people to thrive. I believe in the power of place and the impact of your surroundings on your well-being,” shared Owner & Principal Designer Jessica Soldner. “The name Discrete came from its meaning, Individually Distinct. Each one of our clients and, therefore, each one of our designs are Discrete.
Jessica grew up in Central MN and made her way back to the area in 2007. “I moved out of the area after High School and came back when our third child was born to be near family. I started Discrete Designs in 2008. As part of the Greater St. Cloud communities, we enjoy the network of individuals and the referrals between people and businesses here.”
What started as a solo business for Jessica has grown over the years into what is now an internal team of four, with an extended team of highly skilled subcontractors. “We are creative problem solvers. We look at each project individually to provide solutions through design. We design from the inside out. Keeping the end user at the center of our projects, we create flow, function, and beauty to support and inspire them.”
“We understand how hard it is to start a remodel or new home-building project. It can be overwhelming to make the right decisions and exhausting to put in the time it takes to carefully craft a thoughtful layout.” As a certified general contractor and interior designer with over 15 years of experience, Jessica is passionate about individuals and their living environment. She’s always been compelled to see beyond what’s in front of her regarding space and design. She credits her inner genius – her ability to daydream – for the curiosity and drive that led to her career and business. She’s a believer that great design has the ability to transform your life.
“I never tire of seeing a space transform or evolve from nothing. It makes our hearts happy to see a client interact with their new space for the first time. All the hard work is always worth it when we hear about new memories and positive changes the space has fostered. Each project is an exciting new challenge, but we love that. Things that are necessary - but not so rewarding - are all of the behind-the-scenes paperwork, insurance, and taxes that come with the responsibility of being a business owner,” explained Jessica.
