On the evening of Thursday, October 14th, hundreds of friends, family, and neighbors in Central MN filled the seats of the Paramount Theatre in downtown St. Cloud. Together we heard and learned from eight incredible individuals – Mary Bruno, Charles Eisenreich, John Harlander, Robbyn Wacker, James Alberts, Annette Atkins, Pete Rogers, and Niloufer Merchant for the local TEDx program. They shared stories, expertise, and insight around the 2021 theme, Embrace.
The organization posed the question, “how might you embrace their ideas to inform and enrich your life?” In keeping with the TEDx philosophy of sparking deep discussion and connection, the audience was able to listen to speakers with curiosity and purpose. In addition to outstanding speaker presentations, attendees heard from Buddy King & Friends – including a local African drumming youth group.
2021 marked the 5th TEDxStCloud event, and this year featured both in-person and virtual attendance options. TEDxStCloud is a non-profit endeavor produced for our community by an all-volunteer team, in partnership with generous partner businesses and organizations.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.
