District Coffee

District Coffee, St. Cloud MN

Located in the heart of South St. Cloud, District Coffee offers great coffee in a great atmosphere. The owners have intentionally designed a unique shop that is culturally cozy, making it the perfect place to meet friends, catch up on work, or simply relax and enjoy a cup of something delicious.

Co-owners Molly Windfeldt and Amie Danielson both grew up in Central Minnesota. “We moved around a bit, and both found our ways back here to raise our families and for husbands’ job opportunities. We were both stay-at-home moms when we met, and we had kids the same ages; we decided this would be a fun venture to do together. We both enjoy traveling and visiting coffee shops and decided there was a need for a gathering place centered around coffee in the South St. Cloud area.”

District Coffee, St. Cloud MNTheir vision started with creating a space for people looking for a fresh perspective on their coffee experience. “We wanted to be our community’s place to come together while also getting away. A place of connection and inspiration. We thought, what if we served great coffee in an amazing atmosphere different from anything else local? And that’s where the idea of District Coffee was born — right here in South St. Cloud, Minnesota. Our focus from day one has been to provide an inviting gathering space that you would see in a metro area that serves really good coffee and small bites.”

Community is a pillar of District Coffee’s vision and business, and their partnerships with local businesses exemplify that. You’ll find an array of unique pastries from St. Joseph’s very own Flour & Flower, with items you won’t find at their bakery. “We have had tremendous luck with local businesses and have felt the love. We've worked with WhiteBox Marketing to help us with our branding and website. The dairy milk we use comes from Stoney Creek Dairy, and our Maple Syrup comes from Wildwood Ranch in St. Joseph. We've done our first South Side Small Business Saturday event, collaborating with Corner Hub, Backwards Bread, and Southway Green House Floral, and we have donated to many wonderful causes and local groups during our first year in business.”

Although the increased costs of doing business are a challenge, Molly and Amie have enjoyed the process of owning a business together. “We were both stay-at-home Moms, and now this is our full-time gig. We both work in the business doing daily operations as well as all the behind-the-scenes duties that need to be done. We have learned how to start a business, from concept and design to execution of daily operations and everything in between. It has been really rewarding! We also have met a lot of wonderful people in our community who continue to show up for us, and it's given us the feeling that we have created and are part of something really special.”

“Keep supporting local, small businesses. It can't be said enough! Whether you’re looking for a quick caffeine fix or a place to unwind with friends, we invite you to stop by and experience something new. We can’t wait to serve you!” You can follow District Coffee on Instagram, Facebook, or their website.
